My weigh-in today didn’t go as well as I would have liked. I would have liked to loose, but I ended up gaining .6. I’m not really sure why, but that’s how it goes. We did a short-term goal and a long term goal exercise today.  For my short term goal I wrote down to not eat after dinner and to eat more veggies than fruit.  The veggie thing will be a challenge, but I’m going to make a big pot of veggie soup tomorrow to help with that.

I got a skinny cinnamon dolce latte to drink at the meeting. (*+0)

When we got home I had cinnamon banana oats (*+.5) and an egg with a small amount of soy cheese. (*)

We ate at Panera for lunch before heading up to Gettysburg, PA. It was awesome. I had a Greek salad – no tomatoes, no dressing; black bean soup; baguette and an apple.(*+5) I ended up eating the apple about an hour later on the way up to the Gettysburg outlet mall.

This is the first time I have been shopping in about 6-8 months. I have come to the conclusion that I should really start dressing like I give a shit. So I’ve been watching “What Not To Wear” for weeks trying to learn what things I should be trying to buy. I tried on about 50 different pieces and I got about 5 shirts and a pair of pants. Not too bad, but I have a long way to go to build a wardrobe. I would have liked to shop some more but we had to head back home to meet some family friends for dinner and bowling. On the way back I had some popcorn and an apple. (*)

We went to Parkers Classic American in Bethesda Row for dinner – I had two choices for dinner :-/. I had a salad with pecans and a tiny bit of dijion vinaigrette dressing. (*+1) My entrée was a vegetarian pasta – as feared it was a huge portion of pasta with a few veggies. I ate all the veggies and about 2/3 cup of the 3 cups+ of pasta. (*+6) I also ordered a side of broccoli and had a small roll (*+2)  The restaurant was so dark I couldn’t get a good picture.

I was hungry when I left the restaurant and I just got hungrier so during bowling I broke out my sample pack of multigrain crisps from my meeting this morning. They were pretty yummy. (2)
HS:1->2

Bowling was fun. I bowled a 78 and an 80, which isn’t that bad for me. The boy did awesome though scoring a 128 and a 140.

When we got home I had a small bowl of cereal because I didn’t want to go to bed super hungry. (*)

TGIF

The boy and I both did a 45 minute run on the treadmill this morning.  I did the first 35 minutes walk/run intervals and then switched over to straight running.  It felt so good. 🙂  As a bonus I burned 500 calories.

When I got to work I had chocolate peanut butter banana oats (*+2.5)
HS: 1->3

For lunch I had a yummy salad with all my favorites (eggs, beans, broccoli, peas, onion, carrots, beets, avocado, green peppers, cukes, celery) and a Tomato Basil morningstar farms burger with FF parm and quinoa.  (*) My iphone didn’t switch to landscape for some reason … grrr.
HS:1->3

When I got back to the office I had a mock mocha (*+0)
HS: 2->3

I had two afternoon snacks, an apple with PB (*+2)

Heat wave

I think it actually got too warm in my office today at one point today! YAY, what a horrible problem to have. teehee

My legs were still sore from Monday, but I decided that a good workout might be the thing they needed. Then again maybe I won’t be able to walk tomorrow. 😉 I started off my workout on the elliptical for 30 minutes and then did my leg/shoulder workout. I ended up burning about 500 calories this morning.

We were out of eggs so it was a perfect opportunity to make chocolate peanut butter banana oats. (*+2.5)
HS:1->3

Mid morning I had two kiwis and some carrots. (*)
HS:2->3

Lunch was a taco salad (lettuce, scallions, quinoa, chili, cukes, carrots, and avocado) with a pear on the side. (*)
HS:1->3

Mid afternoon I had an apple and a primal strip. (*+2)
HS:2->3

I had my leftover barley pie and some greenbeans for dinner. (*)
HS:1->3

I was feeling very snacky tonight and I had a mango and some pumpkin pie yogurt with ezeikel cereal. (*)

Let there be heat!

Due to the ice that encapsulated everything in sight, I skipped the gym and slept in. It would have been too dangerous to venture out at 5:30 am. Even though I had permission to work from home I knew I wouldn’t get everything I wanted to get done at home so I ventured in about half an hour late. By then the roads were fine, but it still took about 10 minutes to chip the 1/4 inch of ice off the windshield.  I planned to go to the gym after work, but that rarely happens. Today was no different, after my hectic day all I wanted to do was go home and relax.

Once at work I made a comforting bowl of cinnamon banana oats with an egg. (*+.5)
HS:1->3

For lunch I had chili with quinoa – again. It is almost gone – I even took half of it over to the in-laws. I topped mine with FF cheddar and scallions with carrots on the side. (*)
HS:1->3

I had 2 snacks first an apple and herbal tea. (*)
HS: 2->3

Later I had a mock peppermint mocha. (*+0)
HS:2->3

Good news is that building maintenance came in and may have fixed the heating system that heats,or rather has failed to heat my office for months forcing me to huddle over a mug of hot tea for warmth.  When I left there was no longer a sharp drop in temperature when entering my office. *fingers crossed*

For dinner I had a salad with almonds. (*+1) Then I transformed the Italian barley with tomatoes and cheese into a pie of sorts by adding chickpeas, soy mozzarella, frozen spinach, and 1/2 cup egg whites. (*) It turned out really good and I’m sure it will be better tomorrow. For dessert I had plain FF yogurt, cherries, flax oil, puffed brown rice and ezekiel cereal. (*)

It was already snowing by the time we stepped out the door to go to the gym. This is our first real snow of the season, too bad I have so much work to do – no snow day for me! I was incredibly busy at work today. It is amazing how being busy can be such an appetite suppressant.  The snow has continued all day, and is expected to turn into freezing rain tonight.

I had a nice workout at the gym. I picked back up book 4 of the Twilight series and did an easy 30 minutes on the elliptical. My legs are incredibly sore from yesterday’s workout – like I can barely go up and down the stairs! After my cardio I did a bi/tri workout. So I was 40 calories from 400 so I hopped on the treadmill for 5 minutes before leaving. I ended up burning 430 calories.

At work I had cinnamon banana oats with an egg. (*+.5) perfectly yum!
HS:1->3

Mid morning I grabbed a pear. (*)
HS:2->3

I had a really late lunch. I didn’t feel hungry, but I knew that if I didn’t eat that I would overeat later. I had chili with quinoa topped with scallions and FF cheese, carrots on the side.(*) Those scallions gave the chili that something extra it needed.
HS:2->3

I finished the report I’d been working on ALL day around 4 and then the hunger hit me. I had an apple and cottage cheese. (*+1)
HS:1->2

I made a new recipe tonight from The Vegetarian Gourmet’s Easy Low-fat Favorites – Italian Barley with Tomatoes and Cheese. It turned out really well after i tweaked the seasonings and the boy liked it so that was a plus. I served a Quorn cutlet and roasted brocoflower with it.(*+1) I can think of a lot of ways to reuse this so I’m glad I accidentally doubled the recipe. For desert I had plain FF yogurt with cherries, flax oil, and Ezekiel cereal. (*)

I really felt like stating home from work today. This weekend was so mentally exhausting from my math class I just didn’t want to deal with work. The problem of course is that I have a very limited amount of time to make preparations for my upcoming conference.

I started off the day with an awesome workout at the gym. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill, followed by an intense leg/shoulder routine, I followed that up with 10 minutes running. I burned 600 calories and my legs were just beat.

Once I got to work I had my cinnamon banana oats, which I’ve been craving for days now. It was all that I hoped. I also had an egg on the side. (*+.5)
HS:1->3

I had a pear mid morning. (*) It was perfectly ripe and juicy.
HS:2->3

I brought in some chili with quinoa for lunch. I topped it with avocado and surrounded it with a carrot fort ;). (*)

I didn’t think my lunch left me very satisfied so about 45 min later I went and grabbed a salad from the cafe. I got busy and my hunger went away before I ate it. I ended up having it around 3:30. (*+2)
HS:2->3

The onions made me eat this jolly rancher. (.5)
HS: 3->3

We were heading over to the in-laws for dinner so I made a WW smoothie with milk and 2T cool whip. (*+0)
HS:2->3

For dinner we went to Olive Garden. We haven’t been for so long and I thought it was great. Also great is that they released their full nutritional information!! I love eating at restaurants where I can be informed. I started off with a bowl of minestrone – I didn’t eat the pasta. (*) Next I had the Linguine alla Marinara (whole wheat) with a bread stick. I only ate 3/4 of the pasta and 2/3 of the bread. (*+2) After dinner I had the obligatory Andes mint *YUM*. (.5)

Desert Chili

I started the day off with some chocolate banana oats.(*+.5)  I decided to forego the peanut butter since I wasn’t going to the gym today.  Good thing I did because this held me over until about 1pm.
HS:1->3

For lunch I made a boca with soy cheese, pickles and catsup on a sandwich thin.  Served with carrots and cherries. (*+1) And then I promptly finished off the rest of the cherries. (*)
HS:1->3

I had popcorn with 1t oil for a snack. (*)
HS:2->3

And then edamame (*) later.
HS:1->3

That edamame kept me satisfied for 3 hours!  I decided to just have a light dinner of the Desert Chili that I’d been cooking all day. We got this desert chili mix in a x-mas swap.  It was one of those really pretty layered in a mason jar deals.  I had the chili with soy cheese over some quinoa with carrots and an apple on the side. (*)  For desert I decided to have a chobani with cherries and Ezekiel original cereal for dessert since I wasn’t quite satisfied yet. (*)
